Naseeruddin Shah Hospitalised After Being Diagnosed With Pneumonia: Veteran Actor Under Medical Supervision

As per the latest reports coming in, Naseeruddin Shah has been admitted to a hospital after he was diagnosed with pneumonia. His condition is stable.

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah is one of the most versatile actors in showbiz. The actor has won numerous awards, including three National Film Awards, Padma Shri, and Padma Bhushan awards for his immense contribution to Indian cinema. As per a recent report in Bombay Times, Naseeruddin has been in the hospital for the past two days. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and there was a patch found in his lungs for which he is currently undergoing treatment.

Confirming the same, his manager told the leading daily, “He has been in the hospital for two days. He's under medical supervision. He was brought in for Pneumonia. There was a patch found in his lungs and it became necessary for him to be hospitalised immediately. His wife Ratna Pathak Shah and kids are by his side at the hospital. Reports of the seventy-year-old actor being hospitalized are doing the rounds on social media. His fans and close ones are praying for the actor’s speedy recovery. 

To note, last year, the veteran actor had returned to the stage after eight months due to the pandemic. He returned to Prithvi Theatre to perform Gabriel Emanuel’s 'Einstein'. Speaking about the same, Naseeruddin had told earlier BT, “Nothing can compensate for the high of being on stage in front of people, but performing without an audience has its own challenges and advantages. In time, we will conquer the challenges and figure out the advantages fully because performing online does seem to be an inescapable part of the future.”
